Wood flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available. Sustainable forest management makes it possible to harvest wood without any serious impact on the environment, because trees are a renewable resource that can be regrown time and time again.
Wood floors come in a variety of species. Each provides a look that is unique to itself with its own color and physical characteristics. Some species are light, like maple, some are medium, like oak, and some are dark, like walnut. Each species also possesses natural characteristics that are inherent to its' appearance, like knot holes, mineral streaks or grain variations.
